Dr. Ioannis Mavroudis is a highly respected Consultant Neurologist and Senior Lecturer in Neurology, recognized for his extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI), chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and functional neurological disorders (FND). Humberto Mendes Faria Rodrigues Bachelor and Master in Clinical and Health Psychology at Aveiro University (Portugal) and internship in Coimbra Hospital University Centre. Also performed a research project in Biofeedback/Neurofeedback by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Is currently working in the field of Cognitive Neurorehabilitation. Concomitantly, made several national and international communications in various Congress as Guest Speaker in the field of Neuroscience and/or Psychology and Editor in several Scientific Journals. Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Psychology and Neuroscience (www.neuropsyjournal.com). Author of several articles in peer review journals. At the moment, is a PhD student in Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Salamanca – Neurosciences Institute of Castilla y León. Research interests: Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology and Biological Rhythms, particularly in: Assessment and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation, Drug Abuse and Addiction, Behavioural Neuroscience, Behavioural Management, Biofeedback/Neurofeedback, Sleep Disorders, Pain Disorders.

Brandon Lucke-Wold was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Neuroscience and distinction in honors from Baylor University. He completed his MD/PhD, Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research, and the Global Health Track at West Virginia University School of Medicine. His research focus was on traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical simulation, and stroke. At West Virginia University, he also served as a health coach for the Diabetes Prevention and Management program in Morgantown and Charleston, WV, which significantly improved health outcomes for participants. In addition to his research and public health projects, he is a co-founder of the biotechnology company Wright-Wold Scientific, the pharmaceutical company CTE cure, and was a science advocate on Capitol Hill through the Washington Fellow’s program. He has also served as president of the WVU chapters for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Neurosurgery Interest group, and Erlenmeyer Initiative Entrepreneur group. In addition, he has served as vice president for the graduate student neuroscience interest group, Nu Rho Psi Honor Society, and medical students for global health. He was an active member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He is currently a member of the UF House Staff Council, Positive Culture Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, Board of Directors Alachua County Medical Society, and Accreditation Requirements Review Committee. He is married to Noelle Lucke-Wold and has two children. As a family, they enjoy running with their dogs, rock climbing, and traveling. In his spare time, Brandon frequently runs half marathons and 10ks together with is wife. Brandon also enjoys reading, playing piano, discussing philosophy, and playing chess. He is currently a Pgy5 neurosurgery resident at University of Florida with pursuing endovascular enfolded training and was awarded the Dempsey Cerebrovascular Research Fellowship.

My name is Andrea Bonzini and I am the founder and president of the Argentine Association for Tourette Syndrome. I have a daughter with tourette who is now a 25-year-old woman and I am a teacher, therefore I know how to fight within the family and within the school in the face of the difficulties that are going to appear with tourette. This year the association celebrates 10 years, on our anniversary I can see going back years how with diffusion and awareness we were advancing more in Argentina. It costs a lot and will continue to cost but step by step we are moving forward. Our job is to guide families who present with the logical concerns of seeing that their child begins with tics and nobody guides them, even their pediatrician tells them that this is going to happen, that all children have tics and they refer us to a psychologist, the one who tells us that it is something emotional and it will pass... All of us who are here know that it is a possibility that this is the case, but we also know that they should know more about the tourette in order to follow up and see the evolution together with the observation and reports of parents and teachers. We are concerned that teachers do not know what we are talking about when with some tools and resources to use in the class it would be easier for the children to go through their school day. We are also concerned that schools ask families for children to have a therapeutic companion when we know that children with Tourette's are self-sufficient if teachers adapt their teaching methodology with them. We receive families who, having the diagnosis after a long time of searching, do not know what to do and do not know what we are talking about when we talk about tourette. Unfortunately, many times the doctors they turn to are not the warmest in that profession and everything happens very quickly, they give them the diagnosis, a medication and... see you next month. As parents, receiving the news that your child has a neurological disease or condition that still has no cure is very difficult to understand. From the association we contain them, we tell them what it is like to live with the tourette at home and in the family. We guide parents to see the right professionals, who know what they are talking about and who do not charge them a fortune. We guide them to get the cud to be able to face the expenses of therapies and medication. Now, I wonder, before in our country there was a medication that was excellent for tics, a few years ago it no longer has a license for Latin America, it was not expensive and effective.
